Hawaiʻi Visitor Spending Up 4.8% in April

Visitor spending across Hawaiʻi rose 4.8% in April 2026 compared with the same month last year, according to state figures reported by Maui Now, even as total arrivals saw a slight decline.

For West Maui, continued spending growth is an encouraging signal heading into the peak summer season and ahead of Front Street's August reopening. Earlier in the year, Maui recorded double-digit increases in both visitor spending and arrivals in January, with gains continuing through February.
